Daylight Savings Time ~ Days 1&2

I just wanted to thank everyone who has offered advice about coping with this time change. So far.. it’s interesting… They woke up around 8 am… which was technically no different.. We had breakfast, and hung out around the house until Meemaw and Peepaw got here. They took the girls to the playground to tire them out… They didn’t get back till nearly 230p, and then it was lunch.. an hour behind schedule already… We got them down for nap around 315p and they ended up sleeping until 530p. We then ran out to the new Home Depot to see if they had a shelving unit for our garage.

Daddy and I had spent most of the day cleaning the garage… and we realized, we just didn’t have enough storage… Is there ever enough storage in a garage?

Anyway, we didn’t realize what time it was when we got out of there, thanks to my watch still being an hour off. UGH. We ran over to the Nugget Market to get a sandwich for dinner. Not the healthiest option, but it was fast. As soon as we got home, we all ate dinner, and gave the girls a quick bath. We put them in bed around 9pm which was only an hour later than what we had hoped. They didn’t fall asleep for nearly an hour. Daddy and I worked on the garage until nearly midnight…

This morning, they woke up around 8am.. Ok.. not so bad.. except it was a YOGA morning!!! I had to be out of here no later than 915a… We rushed through getting dressed, eating breakfast, and I let them watch one episode of Dora.. Out the door we ran… Yoga was great.. I just couldn’t balance as well due to lack of sleep.. but the girls had fun at the daycare.. We left there and ran to the grocery store to grab a few things for tonight’s dinner. As soon as we came home, we played a little, read a couple of books, and then had lunch. Then it was up to nap for the girls… at about 1pm, I took them upstairs, and just PRAYED they’d take a nap, considering it was still (according to their internal clock time) barely noon..  It took them a little bit of time, but around 145p they finally fell asleep. I think I’m going to add some blackout fabric to their curtains to help make it darker in there…

When they wake up, I’m going to take them outside to color, and run around a bit… It would help if I had more than a concrete slab for a back yard… but I’m not about to take them out to the front yard… Too many people speed down the street, and I’m not taking any chances.. Someday.. I’ll have a house, with a yard… or a few acres… We’re working on that…

For now, just tiring the heck out of them is probably the best thing I can do… I see a lot of park/playground visits in the future…

Thanks again for all of the suggestions!!!
