Friends, Fun and …. Farts??

Tomorrow is the first “birthday” of a very special place to me. A place that I like to spend time talking with my friends. Friends whom I’ve never met in real life. Friends that live across the country and even the globe. ParentsCentral is a big reason that I’m doing as well as a mommy as I am. Let me tell you a bit about ParentsCentral.

It all started 2 years or so ago, where I and some other moms were on another twin parenting board. We realized that it wasn’t the place for us. We wanted a place where we could let our hair down, and speak our minds while having a glass of wine and relaxing. We found another twin parenting board that quickly became more toxic than anything else. Then a friend lost one of her babies to SIDS. It was a sad, very touching time for all of us. She didn’t feel comfortable on a twin site any longer,even though in our eyes, she was always going to be a twin mommy. So, we started our own message board. We wanted it to be better than the previous places. We wanted it to be a place where all parents could come and hang out, parents of twins, parents of singletons, single parents, parents from all walks of life. It’s become a wonderful place, where bonds have been formed and friendships have been tested and have overcome some of the biggest arguments.

We’re not just a place to talk about entertainment news, tell jokes, or talk about our weekends. We have lots of great advice from every parent there who have experienced so many things as our children grow up. It’s so nice to know that when your child strips of a diaper and flings poop across the room, you are not the only one who has gone through it. The great thing about it is that we can all laugh about it together and tell each other how we got past that particular bump in the road.

I am actually one of the administrators/owners now. I have formed an awesome bond with my co-owners that has become more of a sisterhood than anything else… and I’ve never met either of them in person. They are both such sweet ladies and awesome friends that I can’t imagine not having them in my life. As for our moderators, and all of our members, they make the place fun, and interesting, and addicting. Did I mention registration is free?

Although that original mom has since moved on, the spirit of her little boy still lives on. We all know how our “home” came to be, and we are grateful for the opportunity to come together and talk.

oh… and the farts… yeah.. I may or may not have started a thread talking about those… but I’m not telling any more than that… You’ll have to join us to see what I’m talking about… it’s totally free… literally no strings attached… just be prepared to get hooked and never leave your computer!
