Funny Conversation between Monkey See and I
This conversation just happened… A little background… Both of my girls got in trouble today for talking too much in school (I don’t know how their teacher held out this long)… Thus bringing on the punishment at home of no TV or Computer time (best punishment evah)… Their time can now be spent cleaning their room. Anyway… Monkey See and I were sitting on the couch while she was eating her snack, asking if they could watch TV just while they were eating, and I said no, because they are in trouble. The following conversation ensued…
Monkey See: Are we grounded?
Me: Yep
A: What? No we’re not.
Me: Yes you are. You got in trouble at school today. So… you are now being punished here at home.
A: You said we were in trouble, not grounded, so we’re not grounded.
Me: Um, yes you are grounded…
A: Are you sure?
Me: Yes, I’m definitely sure you are grounded.
A: Oh, What’s grounded?
Me: Well, it’s when you aren’t allowed to do something you’d normally be able to do, simply because you are in trouble. It’s a sort of punishment I guess.
A: So we’re being punished, not grounded?
Me: Honey… All of the above. Go clean your room.
Goodness… Now that we’ve got that cleared up… hahahaha
