Hoppy Easter Everyone!!!

This has been a pretty fun weekend for the girls… Easter started for them on Saturday… MIL came over and brought them some cute interesting sunglasses that had bunny ears and the bunny nose attached to it.. They didn’t much care for them… The girls said it hurt their nose… They are now on the floor of my living room… The big hit was the plethora of plastic eggs that she brought that either had candy or coins in them… The girls, in their infinite wisdom have decided they want to keep all of their coins in their piggy banks… Smart… very smart… I don’t know who they got that from since Daddy and I both love to spend coins that are burning a hole in our pockets… We had dinner… Daddy made turkey burgers… and the night was over soon after that…

This morning, we all got up and got dressed up to go to Mass… It was a good Mass.. The girls actually behaved. I was so happy! They looked so beautiful in their dresses … I even had time to curl their hair.. so they looked so grown up! We all ate a quick breakfast, and gave the girls their Easter baskets… They actually did very well in Church… We got there just a tad bit late ( I know I’m going to be struck by lightning someday)… so we went straight to the “Crying Room”. My dad was actually sitting up on the altar since he was the Church Trumpeter that day.. as he is every Easter. The girls almost instantly spotted him and got all excited. “Mommy! It’s Peepaw!” “Yes honey, shhh… we have to be quiet at Church.” Dad caught my attention and motioned to me that it was ok to go out to sit with mom. We quietly slipped out of the crying room and quietly slipped into the Church… I spotted my mom almost instantly, and the four of us slid into the pew right next to her… As soon as the girls saw Meemaw… They were so excited! They both wanted to go to her. One sat on her lap while the other sat next to her… and then they switched…. several times. It was actually kinda funny.

We were able to get through the entire mass without much fussing. They went back and forth between who they wanted to sit with, and then wanted their water cups. I know I know.. we’re not supposed to bring food or drink into Church… but I’m sure God understands… we were trying to save ourselves from any major embarrassment from a major meltdown.. and IT WORKED! After mass was over, everyone was just gawking at how much they’ve grown up, how cute they were… I was in mommy heaven… I mean.. I won’t brag, but of COURSE my girlies are cute and adorable, and grown up… oh and they listen! Yeah.. they listen… about as well as a 8 week old puppy… But that’s ok… They did good in public, when it counted… and that’s all that mattered..

Anyway… after mass, we all went to Capital Park to try for some Easter photos of the girls… It had been a while since we had portraits done… so.. why not… We found a nice little corner of the park to try and get some photos… of course Monkey Do was all about taking pictures… Monkey Do.. nope.. wasn’t having it… She was not happy to participate… until a horse came by! Yep.. a horse… of course there was a police officer riding the horse.. Monkey See was all smiles after this… oh, and she says to me “I see the horse’s butt” and just cracks up laughing… Oh Lordy.. what has this child picked up?? We were there for about 45 minutes, and ended up getting somewhere around 500 pictures… Some cute, some totally awesome, and some I want to blow up and frame and put up on our wall… MAN.. having a professional photographer in the family is just freaking awesome!

I’m working on a couple of them, but come back and I’ll have some pics up for you soon!!!

  1. Sounds like a great Easter. I had a good chuckle when I read about how they wanted to go to their grandma in Church… my kids do the exact same thing when I take them and they spot their grandma there. LOL :pinkheart
